Case Study: Fujitsu- Sustainable innovation in Wellington

Since 1935 Fujitsu have consistently been at the forefront of technology and remain a world leader almost 90 years later. A core tenet of Fujitsu’s mission is a desire to connect people and technology through sustainable innovation. When Fujitsu recently opened a new office at Bowen Street in Wellington, connecting their employees and creating a workplace that promoted wellbeing, positivity and collaboration was a top requirement. An equally salient priority was the ecological impact of materials and furnishings used in the project.

As a company built on the principles of workplace sustainability, Zenith were engaged to supply a range of environmentally conscious furnishings for the project. With attention to the many and varied tasks performed daily, including focused work, client engagement and collaboration, Zenith curated a furniture solution that aligned to the various work styles and functions performed.

Supporting Fujitsu’s goal of easy collaboration, Rumba can be configured in a number of ways to facilitate individual or collaborative work modes.

Understanding that their people spend a great deal of time at their desks, the right task chair was imperative for Fujitsu. A good ergonomic task chair not only provides comfort but can also improve productivity and reduce the potential for workplace injury. The Vox task chair offers the user postural comfort and versatility. With armrest options, lumbar support and an auto weight adjust recline mechanism, Fujitsu chose Vox as the primary Task chair for the Bowen Street Wellington office.

Areas dedicated to collaboration and client engagement required a seating solution that provided aesthetic elegance, durability, and versatility. The JAC range was the optimal choice: Thoughtfully designed and robustly manufactured, JAC effortlessly fulfills the seating needs for a multitude of spaces and applications. JAC also aligned with Fujitsu’s commitment to minimize environmental impact: For every JAC sold a tree is planted through Zenith’s Sustainability initiative. By choosing 37 JAC chairs for their Wellington office, Fujitsu helped restore habitat and minimize erosion in the region.
