For centuries, wooden chairs have embodied a harmonious blend of function and form, celebrated for their enduring charm and natural warmth. Their versatility across both traditional and contemporary aesthetics speaks to a timeless appeal that enhances a wide range of interior spaces.
Beyond their simple visual elegance, wooden chairs offer exceptional durability, ease of maintenance, and lasting comfort, making them a practical choice for commercial environments. As sustainability becomes increasingly central to design, wood’s eco-friendly nature further elevates its value. In this spirit, Zenith wished to create a core, foundational chair collection and thus, Basis was born.
Basis Stool and Basis Barstool
Basis is a robust, minimalist seating range with a strong timber aesthetic, also available with steel frames, creating a harmonious blend of industrial ruggedness and elegant simplicity. The initial release includes a chair, barstool (750h and 650h) and 450h compact stool, all with optional upholstered seat and/or back upholstery.
Basis is available in natural oak for a warm, inviting feel, or with optional painted finishes. The painted oak can be colour-matched to the powder coated steel frames and front fixings, creating bold, colour-blocked combinations. For a sleeker aesthetic, choose from a range of powder coated steel frame colours.
Basis Barstool
Designed with flexibility in mind, the Basis chair is stackable up to six high with the steel frame version and two high when upholstered, while the timber frame can be stacked four high or two with upholstery. This smart, space-saving feature makes Basis an ideal choice for dynamic commercial environments where easy storage, quick reconfiguration, and efficient use of space is key.
