NZ Best Design Awards 2022

We are excited to announce Alter by Scott Fitzsimons and two of Zenith Auckland's projects have won Gold in this year's New Zealand Best Design Awards.

Brought to you by The Designers Institute of New Zealand the Best Design Awards is an annual showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product, digital and motion design along with three special awards - Value of Design, Public Good and Toitanga.

Alter by Scott Fitzsimons won Gold in the Furniture category.

The judges praised that “Alter’s design strikes a beautiful balance of emotive materials, quality manufacturing process and an aesthetic that firstly plays homage to the furniture icons of the past, yet finds its own and unique place in the competitive world of workplace furniture.”

MC 1

MC designed by Jasmax won Gold in the Offices & Workplace Environments Category.

The judge's commented “A one-of-a-kind workplace that celebrates contemporary Aotearoa, connect employees with the natural environment and expels preconceived notions of ‘the typical law firm.’
An oasis of greenery disarms this legal office into an ecosystem of delightful and commute-worthy spaces. The clients brief of creating a healthy and productive workplace that attracts and retains talent has certainly been achieved.

This project offers a refreshing and courageous take on the status quo expectations and what we'd typically find in an office environment."

2Degrees

2dregrees designed by Warren and Mahoney won Gold in the Offices & Workplace Environments Category.

The judge's commented “This dynamic workplace creates an environment for staff that boldly embodies the brand - the superhero 'fighting for fair' - out to innovate and take it to the world. With audacious colour, comic graphics and space to adapt, demount and modify fit for a creative team with personality.

The space boldly embodies the brand values of it's innovative tech client. Colour and finish has been integrated in striking applications where each space communicates the culture clearly through a sense of adaptability and clever utility.

In an era where some are struggling to get people back to the office, it is clear that high quality buildings and interiors are going to be something employees will look for. This striking design expresses the brand and the values of the company."
