INDIGENOUS REFORESTATION IN EAGLE HABITAT-In Aurora Province’s Sierra Madre corridor, the Dumagat and Alta Indigenous communities are reforesting 400 hectares of ancestral lands, enhancing habitats for endangered wildlife including the Philippine eagle owl and Rufous hornbill.
Women have played a key role in planting and nursery operations, with cultural knowledge guiding species selection. Beyond environmental restoration, these projects strengthen food security, cultural identity, and economic resilience, preserving ecological heritage for future generations.
