As if challenging the balance, Pion occasional table, dining table, conference table and stools seems to have been delicately placed upon simple cones. The tabletops and the stool seat seem to have been delicately placed upon simple cones. This collection plays with colours and contrasts by combining natural wooden trays with lacquered feet. Pion is highly adaptable and can be shuffled about any space to suit any style.
Colour varieties for the maple wood tables of the collection are mustard, olive, peach and sky-blue. The seat of the stool is in natural leather, chosen to match the colour of the bases of the tables.
As a graduate of the Nantes Atlantique Design School, Ionna Vautrin honed her skills with Camper in Spain and George J. Sowden in Italy before joining the studio of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Vautrins style is a fusion of poetic and industrial. The simple yet unique items she designs are published by Industreal ToolsGalerie, Foscarini, Moustache and Super-ette to name but a few. Her flagship model is Binic, a lamp named after the small Breton port. Vautrin opened her own studio in January 2011, after winning the Grand Prix design prize from the City of Paris. She was also one of the leading figures in the exhibition "La Nouvelle vague, le nouveau paysage domestique franais" at the 2012 Milan Furniture.
