Formway Design translates key insights of human behaviour into highly desirable products. Our user-centred culture marries a rigorous design process, sensitivity to aesthetics, and a passion for the environment.
Founded in 1956, New Zealand-based Formway Design has been designing furniture for more than five decades. In 1979 the company redefined itself, developing a new identity and philosophy that focused on team-based design and extensive research.
Formways designs are informed by insight gained through observation and consideration of human behaviour.
Formway Design have been awarded numerous design awards and continues to do so, including gold product awards at the NeoCon furniture fair for the Life and Be chairs (the Be chair marketed as the Generation By Knoll chair by Knoll, Inc. in the United States), and NZ Best Design awards for the Life and Be chairs and the Hum workstation system.
