Mel
“Named after my wife’s grandfather, Mel Bloomer, the designer and engineer of the first opening quarter light window that went into the early Kombi camper vans,” says designer Nathan Day. Handcrafted in Solid American Oak, American Walnut and Tasmanian Blackwood. Mel is also available in a premium Ebonised Walnut finish. Mel was designed as an economical seating option for Quarterlight, Vista St and Wonton tables. Mel holds its own as an elegant standalone bench and coffee table with the option of a linoleum seat or top.
DESIGNER
Nathan Day
Nathan Day is a designer/ maker who harks back to the days before CNC machinery, when furniture was created by true craftsmen. Though he now lives in a world dominated by industrial design and automated, mass production, Nathan believes in the virtues of bespoke woodwork.
As apprentice to a master craftsman and having been trained by some of England's finest furniture makers, Nathan's skill sees his work immaculately produced and finished to the highest standard.
